Identity/life certificates

In the interests of the SÄV Pension Community, we are required to review the conditions for entitlement to benefits every two years in the case of all beneficiaries.

In the case of recipients of old-age pensions and persons receiving an invalidity pension who are permanently resident in Germany, the SÄV carries out a routine electronic population register enquiry.

In order to verify the conditions for entitlement to a widow’s/widower’s pension, these beneficiaries are required every two years to obtain an identity/life certificate issued by the competent reporting body, together with proof of their current marital status.

Beneficiaries who are not permanently resident in Germany are required to obtain an identity/life certificate every two years, certified by the competent consulate.
