A milestone in 1991: Veterinarians and physicians in Saxony regained control of their own retirement planning. With the founding of the SÄV, the time-honored tradition of professional responsibility was restored. Learn more about our history and what sets us apart from the DRV.

Legally established, supported by the medical profession

The Sächsische Ärzteversorgung is built on a solid foundation of clear legal provisions and internal regulations. The legal basis on which the Pension Fund, your membership and our work are founded comprises the Saxon Act on Chambers of the Medical Professions, the Saxon Insurance Supervision Act and the SÄV’s Articles of Association.

Volunteer-led self-governance

Extended Chamber Meeting

Here’s what you should know about the Extended Chamber Assembly: 113 elected representatives from the State Medical Association and the State Veterinary Association shape professional matters at the state level and meet once a year for an in-person session to make key decisions.

Supervisory Board

Learn all about the Supervisory Board: Nine representatives from the State Medical Association and the State Veterinary Association oversee the work of the Saxon Medical Pension Fund during five-year terms and meet four times a year, either online or in person. Representatives from the supervisory authorities are invited to attend the Supervisory Board meetings.

Administrative Committee

Take a look at the work of the Administrative Committee: As the executive body, the Administrative Committee is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Saxon Medical Pension Fund. It is elected for a five-year term, meets up to eight times a year - either online or in person - and translates key decisions into strategic and financial actions.

Sustainability has many meanings – but for the Sächsische Ärzteversorgung, it is an integral part of our mission: to provide all members with long-term, secure, fair and intergenerationally equitable care. Meeting needs over the long term, intergenerational equity and social participation define our understanding of sustainability.
