Notice of Eligibility & Payment Confirmation

Important: All SÄV members with pension rights will receive their updated documents by the end of March each year.

Your membership year in two documents.

In 2026, we ‘retired’ the annual statement of account and replaced it with two new documents: the entitlement statement and the payment confirmation. With these two documents, we aim to provide you with more information and enable you to use the pension simulator on our website easily and hassle-free. But what exactly is the information contained within, and what does this mean for you personally? You can find answers to these and other questions below. Or you can watch the explanatory video on the right. If you have a clear overview, you need not worry about the future.

Pension Entitlement Statement

The Pension Entitlement Statement contains the following information:

  • all total contributions relevant to the pension entitlement during the membership period, including any contributions transferred to the SÄV
  • the total number of points accumulated since the start of membership
  • the current pension calculation – without extrapolation
  • Your personal age limits for receiving a retirement pension
  • Important information regarding the Personal Contribution Limit (PBG)
  • Relevant figures for using the retirement pension simulator

Important Information About the Notice of Entitlement

Different retirement ages under the German Pension Insurance Scheme

For SÄV members born between 1957 and 1963 who also have pension entitlements under the German Pension Insurance Scheme (DRV), different retirement ages apply under the two pension schemes.

How pension point values are calculated

In addition to the total of all contributions paid, the pension statement also shows the pension point values accrued. The annual point value per member is calculated by dividing the total contributions paid in a calendar year by the average contribution of all members for that year, multiplied by a factor of 2.

Payment Confirmation

The payment confirmation serves as proof of all contributions paid during the calendar year. The contributions for the relevant calendar year include all payments received in your contribution account between 1 January and 31 December (mandatory contributions or voluntary additional payments), regardless of whether they are allocated to specific periods (back payments for past periods).

Refunds reduce your total contribution amount.

You may only use the contribution statement as proof for the tax office if you are a self-payer – i.e. if you pay the contributions to the pension fund yourself. If third parties (employers, the Jobcentre, health insurance funds, etc.) pay the contributions to the pension fund on your behalf, you will receive a certificate for the tax office from the paying authorities, such as the electronic income tax certificate from your employer.

Frequently Asked Questions About Entitlement Notifications & Payment Confirmations

Are voluntary payments also included in the payment receipt?

Yes – all payments received in your contribution account between 1 January and 31 December of the relevant calendar year are shown. In addition to compulsory contributions, this also includes voluntary additional payments or back payments for previous periods.

Can I also submit the payment receipt to the tax office?

The payment receipt is NOT suitable for confirming to the tax office the contributions passed on to the Sächsische Ärzteversorgung, including the employer’s contribution, as the total contribution amount shown may also include contributions from other social security providers. Therefore, only the electronic income tax statement issued by the employer should be submitted to the tax office.

Why is there a discrepancy between the contribution amount shown on the payslip and that on the annual contribution statement?

There are often overlaps at the turn of the year. If your employer does not receive payment for contributions reported in December (monthly contributions, back payments, offsets) until January of the following year, these will only be shown on the subsequent payment statement.
