Start your own business
Are you just starting your own practice or thinking about going into private practice? As a member of the SÄV, you’ll remain fully covered – with pension, risk and survivor’s cover. Find out how your cover is arranged when you set up your practice and what options are available to you. This way, you can keep track of your cover and focus fully on your professional future. We’ll show you which steps make sense and how to ensure you’re well covered right from the start. Put your trust in cover that grows with you and adapts flexibly to your life plans.
Maternity Leave and Parental Leave
During maternity leave and parental leave, you may be exempt from paying contributions, provided you are not practising as a doctor or vet. During this period, you remain compulsorily insured but do not accrue pension entitlements. For self-employed members, however, this only applies if no income is generated from the practice. The catch? No pension entitlements accrue during contribution-free periods. So, alongside investing in nappies, do consider investing in voluntary additional contributions. Because whilst you’re raising your child’s future, your own shouldn’t stand still.
Provision for unforeseen life circumstances
If you are forced to stop working for health reasons, you can apply for an occupational disability pension. There are no waiting periods, and cover begins as soon as you make your first contribution! At the same time, we support you with rehabilitation measures to maintain, significantly improve or restore your ability to work. Provided no other provider is responsible, we provide a voluntary grant, which you can apply for before the measure begins. This allows you to focus on what really matters: your health and your future.
