Health and Long-Term Care Insurance

We are required to pass on information regarding your pension payments to your relevant health insurance fund. The fund will then assess whether you are required to pay health and long-term care insurance contributions from your pension payments. The same procedure applies to the payment of long-term care insurance contributions.

Obligations to provide evidence for pensioners

The SÄV regularly checks that the conditions for receiving benefits are met. To this end, we participate in the death data reconciliation process with Deutsche Post Renten Service. Pensioners and recipients of widows’ or widowers’ benefits living abroad are required to provide evidence.

Pension Rights Equalisation

Following a divorce, pension rights equalisation is usually carried out automatically. This involves dividing the pension entitlements accrued during the marriage equally between the spouses. In the case of SÄV, this equalisation ensures that the spouse entitled to compensation receives their own pension entitlement – and thus remains covered by our scheme.
